Sheridan Christian Academy (SCA) was founded in the fall of 1979. In that year, SCA launched a preschool: what is now known as Sheridan Preschool. We are proud to have graduated over four-hundred students from our preschool program during our more than twenty-five years of existence. In 1980, we extended our educational curriculum to include kindergarten through the twelfth grade. The curriculum utilized in preschool and kindergarten is the nationally accepted A Beka curriculum. A Beka provides excellent fundamentals of phonics, numbers, reading, and writing. Grades one through twelve utilize the School of Tomorrow curriculum: also known as Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum, which emphasizes the one-on-one learning concept.

The School of Tomorrow, which is based in Dallas Texas, provides curriculum to over eight-thousand schools in one-hundred and twenty-five different countries. People that possess doctorate and masters degrees in fields such as education, medicine, science, law, and religion developed all of the study materials your child will use.

The curriculum is based on the fact that a student progresses as he/she learns, and that a student's success is not found in how he/she is taught, but rather on how he/she learns. We believe that children do not have learning disabilities, but some children do have learning limitations. This curriculum also allows the advanced student to reach his/her maximum learning potential by allowing that student to work at an accelerated pace.

At SCA, your child will be given diagnostic examinations to discover his/her learning levels. This particular exam assists us in descovering any learning limitations your child may or may not have. Once these important factors are considered, your child's learning process begins.

Often, we are asked if the education children receive at SCA will be accepted at colleges and universities. Absolutely! Graduates of SCA have been accepted into institutions such as Ball State University, Indiana Bible College, IUPUI, and ITT, to name just a few.
